The Choice is Yours!
We offer two programs for earning a high school diploma or high school equivalency certificate:
Accelerated College and Career Transition Program
Accelerated College and Career Transition Program (AC2T) is a welcoming and supportive, tuition-free program for young adults between 16-24 who have dropped out of high school and are now seeking job and college readiness. Students can earn a high school diploma or equivalency certificate in a completely individualized program, incorporating online learning, independent study, and one-on-one tutoring. Scheduling is flexible and enrollment is open throughout the year.
Accelerated College and Career Transition Program (AC2T) is a welcoming and supportive, tuition-free program for young adults between 16-24 who have dropped out of high school and are now seeking job and college readiness. Students can earn a high school diploma or equivalency certificate in a completely individualized program, incorporating online learning, independent study, and one-on-one tutoring. Scheduling is flexible and enrollment is open throughout the year.
Adult Secondary Education
The Adult Secondary Education (ASE) program, which is also open for enrollment throughout the year, is designed to accommodate adults with work and family responsibilities who wish to earn a high school diploma or equivalency certificate for career advancement and college readiness. Adult students can work with a counselor to develop a personalized learning plan and study online or at one of our campuses throughout Los Angeles. One-on-one instruction allows students to refresh and refine their academic skills, moving forward to achieve their goals.

Instruction in the AC2T and ASE programs is competency-based, which is a fancy way of saying you will get credit for what you already know. Our counselors will use your transcripts and assessments to understand what you have already achieved so they may create a plan tailor-made for you. Using a combination of individualized instruction, online learning and independent study, your plan will make your educational journey flexible and allow you to achieve your diploma or certificate as quickly as possible.

Adult Basic Education: Building a Foundation
Just as a skyscraper needs a solid foundation before it can rise to the stars, so does your education. Let us help you build the foundation you need for the life you deserve with our Adult Basic Education (ABE) program. Completing our ABE program ensures your English and math skills are at a solid eighth grade level, fostering confidence and setting you up for success in your future education and life.
Literacy
With ABE Literacy, you will develop the building blocks necessary to strengthen your reading and writing fluency. Exercises in vocabulary, reading comprehension strategies and test-taking skills, among others, will get you there.

Numeracy
ABE Numeracy focuses on addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers, decimals and fractions as well as geometry. ABE Numeracy will prepare you for success in areas such as money management, time management, problem-solving and critical thinking.

What is a High School Equivalency certificate?
A High School Equivalency (HSE) certificate is an alternative to a traditional high school diploma. Earning an HSE certificate opens doors to education and employment opportunities, as it demonstrates that you are t you have the same knowledge and skills as a high school graduate. And as part of our ongoing commitment to support your education and career goals every step of the way, we offer free HSE preparation courses and testing. English as a Second Language
Equity Pathways
Parents and guardians of LAUSD school-age children are invited to participate in Equity Pathways. Each course is tailored to the needs of a specific population, helping to build safe and inclusive communities, as well as providing critical strategies to access and navigate District resources. These courses, which are available online, use a sharing and discussion format and are facilitated by a credentialed teacher who specializes in the given pathway. Equity Pathways are currently available for families of the following:
- African American/Black Learners
- Exceptional Learners
- Multilingual Learners
- Youngest Learners
